At least they’ll know that being anywhere near the crew on Virginia Beach charter boat Fly ‘n’ Fish is likely to bring good luck.
Home based at the Virginia Beach Fishing Center, the team over the weekend captured gold in the 38th annual Ocean City Tuna Tournament.
Winning the “stringer” division that weighed a combined for 408 pounds also helped the checking account with a prize of $357,460. In the division, teams were allowed to weigh in up to five tuna in each of their two days of competition.
Fly ‘n’ Fish weighed in 10 fish to win.
This year’s three-day tournament featured 111 teams competing for a total purse of $1,422,270. Like other big offshore tournaments, a variety of different levels (divisions) were available. Most entrants chose to enter them all, “just in case.”
