After two days on the water, the Alice Kelly Memorial Ladies Only Billfish Tournament has crowned a winner.
Catchy Ladies finished the event Monday with 700 points and was named the Billfish Jackpot winner – earning $54,000.
Honey Hush also had 700 points, but Catchy Ladies got the nod on time of catch.
Held out of Pirate’s Cove Marina in Manteo, the tournament featured 268 teams, with a total payout of $119,000.
In two days of angling, competitors caught and released 284 fish – 8 blue marlin, 237 white marlin, 4 sailfish, 30 dolphin and 5 wahoo.
The other big money winner was Marian Gore on Bill Collector with a 26.2-pound dolphin – taking the division’s jackpot award and $65,000.
Stephanie Stone on team She-nanigans won the wahoo division with a 68.3-pounder.
No tuna were weighed.
Jessica Scales on the Tail Gunner was named the top lady angler.
Mary-Ann Ash on the Strokin’ was named the top junior lady angler.
